New Moon in Aquarius-Our Temple of Haven

The Moon transits New tomorrow morning in the airy astrological sign of Aquarius. This is the call to visioning what could be. To creating a new narrative and thus a new blueprint of desired outcome and hope. This all sounds quite grand, but the reality is that we are in the midst of some very challenging times and reserves of health, will and stamina are in short supply.

I am currently running a series of classes entitled The Power of the Witch:Magickal Healing for Mind, Body and Spirit. This past week our focus was on renewal and health of the Body. Our corporeal form that provides the day-to-day support to enable our greater work of spiritual practice.

The intention was simple enough, that of honoring our bodies and the marvelous ways we move through this world, and thus, honoring the work we do as Divinely inspired beings of spirit and soul. The complexity lay in all that we encounter along the way back to ourselves in all of our beauty and grace and the limitations, and script we write that support less than healthy behaviors of mind and body.

There is no doubt that going about the work of being human is difficult. Staying healthy (no judgement here as to what that should look like) in the sense of knowing your limitations, nourishing your body, relaxing your mind and having good boundaries and realistic expectations consumes most of us. And, as much as I love the (Aquarian-driven) techie age, there is often too much information at any given time that fluctuates in the messages more often than a chameleon changes color.

This New Moon is all about opportunity to envision and to be the advocate for humanity-in this case, I am going to say the humanity of YOURSELF. Forget about New Year’s resolutions, Instead, make a fresh start at replenishing your reserves and moving towards a place of wholeness and stamina that is fed and nurtured in appropriate and sustaining ways.

Aquarian energy is infused with Uranian electricity and transformation. Use this energy to motivate and electrify your resolve to step more fully into the best version of yourself. The space of having just enough of all aspects of your physical life and thus enhancing your spiritual self in a way that encourages growth and allows for that growth to evolve without draining or depleting your vitality.

One of the recommendations I had for us was in creating an astral Temple of Haven (respite). This is a self-created space that is abundant in healing and renewal, all the while holding the intention and vision of you strong, empowered, renewed and ready to take on the work of the mundane and the spiritual.

So, I ask you on this auspicious New Moon of Mind’s Creative Vision…

Full Moon in Gemini: The Perfect Timing to Reboot!

Uranus Retrograde in Astrological Taurus

As we near the end of this year-and a 10-year cycle within the year 2000, there is a lot of energy, change and shifts afoot. For many this year has been an especially challenging one at all levels. Climate change, political tensions, injustice, death, natural disasters and more have bombarded us with stressors beyond the norm that our technology driven day to day life imparts. And, today as Lady Moon rides high in the astrological sign of talkative Gemini and electrically charged Uranus remains retrograde it is the perfect time to “reboot”!

In technological jargon a “reboot” means that a device needs to be restarted, most notably after stalling or installation/introduction of a new program or application. The existing power is not terminated, as in shutting down and requiring a generation of start-up; instead I like to think of it as a momentary pause for integration and recognition of what has been newly added, while maintaining the initial energy used to start the entirety of the device itself. In other words, we don’t always need to let go if the momentum when we introduce something new to the mix. Especially if that something new holds the component of an upgrade to what exists with sole intention of making it perform or respond better.

The overlays of several potent astrological markers in this Full Moon’s venue offer maximum opportunity to upgrade, refine, open new lines of communication and reboot your being as we are soon to enter a new year. These are some of the highlights that you may wish to use in forming an intention for this moon’s work and/or the coming year:

Numerology

Some very interesting iterations of numerical patterns such as the date of 12/12 and the moon waxing Full at 12:12a.m. this morning.
The number 12 is envisioned as a separate identifier of the month and the day; and 12 ( 1+2) = 3 when reduced. We have a double iteration of 3 (month) and 3 (day). Two layers of a triune nature. Think, Maiden, Mother, Crone – Youth, Father, Sage. Using this pattern we have a 3 of Feminine energy and polarity(not gender, rather the quality of the energetic signature) and 3 of the Masculine energy. The receptive nature and that which seeds that receptiveness when combined providing the space of creation.

And, where is the product of that creation: 12:12a.m. Two coalescing to produce within itself a mirror reflection !2 (3) : 12(3)a.m. of what is held in the potency of today’s date and month.

The second iteration is yet to come as the promise of something transformative and foundational in its expression- this being the last full moon of a 10-year cycle and heralding the nearing of crossing into the year 2020.

This last full moon of a 10 cycle is the final stamp of “pass through” that is energetic nature of the number 10. 10 evolves from the number 9-last of the single digits and the space of finality, crossing thresholds, death and rebirth. 10 marks the return to the singular nature of “1” now standing in collaboration with the “0” of the limitless all, infinity and all potential. This new way of being that is offered by the number 10 speaks to having learned the lessons as the singular being and choosing to be reborn now knowing one’s place as part and parcel of the Divine (the 0).

This is the potency and potential we carry into the year 2020 and that full moo;s light that guides the way as herald from this cycle into the next. 2020 reduces to 2+2=4; and as such this upcoming year promises to bring about new foundations (the ultimate gift of 4-think about the strength of a 4-sided cube and the support on all sides) and changes that will redesign how we perceive ourselves in this world and how the world perceives our philosophies and actions.

The Full Moon and Uranus Retrograde

The astrological sign of this Full Moon is Gemini; the quintessential master of communication, shape-shifter in ability to change course instantly and Mutable (flexibility and resilience) Air (mind, intellect, breath) that is sharp as a knife and just as insightful to change philosophies, agendas and blueprints to accommodate the currents of change. Add to this the intensity of a Uranian retrograde and everything is now amplified, aped up and running at micro-speed. Uranus and Mercury are reflections of one another. The latter being the higher amplification of communication’s gifts (think computer email) and the former being grassroots style (think of phone call), up close and personal. An additional component of Uranus is how it works directly on our neurological system because of its potency serving as an electrical current vs a battery (Mercury). Whenever Uranus stations retrograde, life forms, in general feel more agitated and neurologically stimulated than at other times; primarily because all life forms are electricity themselves.

Time to Reboot!

Mercury Transit 2019 and Full Moon in Taurus: Knock! Knock! Who’s There?

Today (retrograde) Mercury will transit the Sun in a rare and auspicious event. We are also in the aura of a Full Moon in Taurus (Nov. 12 @ 8:34a.m. EST), giving this already powerful alignment even more potential for communication between the physical and spiritual nature of our being.

Knock! Knock! Who’s There?

Mercury is the quintessential planet of communication and is of the mental (Airy) realm. It guides the flow, quality and depth of how interaction occurs at all levels and assists in formulating the construct of thoughts, blueprint of experience and what we think can be. How we process the world and our experience within it are directly influenced by Mercury’s potency, albeit often transparency as we tend to consider communication from the perspective of social dialogue. This is part of the equation, but the most effective communication occurs at multi-levels of expression-how we move and displace energy through that movement-the verbage left unsaid, yet thundering through our thoughts-a look, a glance and every visual moniker that offers expression of what cannot be said, and more – you get the picture.

The Sun has been moving through the astrological sign of Scorpio, intense, intuitive and holding the power to transform at deep levels if we allow the shedding of the Scorpion’s stinger and take on the winged aspirations of the Eagle and the final rendering down and re-creation of the Phoenix reborn (all symbols of Scorpio’s waters. The Sun is our strength of being, the Divine spark of our spiritual essence and the power we emanate as corporeal beings carrying the memory of our own Divinity as spiritual foundation. The Full Moon wears this mantle lending boundary to the watery outpourings of gnosis and heart. Think-the boundaries of shoreline that provide container for the vastness and depths of ocean.

Putting it Together:

We stand at the doorway of opening to a greater expression of who we are-at all levels of our being. Mercury transits and moves between Sun (the generator that provides life, light and the fires of will) and Earth (manifest form and physical foundations). The Moon waxes and builds in preparing the vessel that will become the meeting place of dialogue between mind (Mercury) and will (Sun).

We knock on this doorway, seeking entry into a most sacred sanctuary of our inner being. A place that has been uninhabited for some time and now is ready to receive its guest seeking deeper understanding and knowledge of self. What we find beyond may not be what we wish to encounter, just relax and know that if you knock on these doors, and speak truly your identity they will be flung open wide, for they are of your creation.

Aries Full Moon-Lets Play

We welcome the Aries Full Moon and the playful energy that can be harvested if we allow ourselves to partake of the mysteries and beauty of the Samhain season. There is power and strength as we prepare to honor the ancestors and our beloved departed and as we remember their lives, we can also appreciate the bounty and beauty of the life we now enjoy and for the moment allow cynicism and negativity to fall away. As we ride the crest of Mother Moon’s full bounty we can use this freedom to simply “be” and carry it into the deep recesses of our being to illuminate and inform how we move forward.

This full moon is one of Fire and holds the energy of beginnings in the Cardinal astrological sign of Aries. The opportunity for a fresh perspective unencumbered by pre-conceived notions abounds. Aries is the first of astrological signs and as such brings a youthful and certain naivete to all that it touches. Think back to the enthusiasm and limitless energy and visions you had as a young child. Nothing was unachievable. Nothing was impossible and everywhere offered a new adventure. All of this is what is needed desperately now, and using it as a tool to simply enjoy the catalyzing effects of fires newly begun can light the pathway of bringing a fresh start to anything you wish.

Some things you could allow to arise from this moon:

The Longest Day! The Deepest Healing…

Tomorrow morning we welcome the Summer Solstice and the longest day before light gives way to darkness. There is a lot going on with the solar transit into Cancer and a Neptune Retrograde that will remain through November 27th. The Moon wanes in astrological Aquarius and we are already in the throes of Jupiter (Sagittarius), Saturn (Capricorn) and Pluto (Capricorn) Retrogrades taking hold in April. Everybody wants in on the party and everyone wants to be the focus of attention. So, what to do with all of this palpable energy?

To begin with, just breathe! Take a load off and if you are able and the weather accommodates, spend some quality time outside tomorrow reveling in the light. Better yet, find a natural setting-beach, woods, mountains-and drink in the power and splendor of our world unadorned and embraceable and ready for the reciprocity of healing. Feeling better now? Okay, let’s get to the magick.

We have all of the elements represented in this line-up and the ability to connect these energies to align with the alchemical and elemental nature of our being. Saturn and Pluto have been hanging out in earthy Capricorn, ensuring that every step of the way has been carefully executed just as the goat navigates t he steepest of cliffs. Saturn naturally strives towards structure and a timestamp that is of no world’s making. Pluto heralds the death of what should be relegated to the past to serve s as the inspiration of the futures endeavors. This earthiness directly impacts our physical state of being and all that we relinquish in the transformation of rendering from the past, seeking the vision of the future while solidly anchored to a present that is instantaneously becoming the past that informs our future.

Jupiter and the Sun lend their own vision of Fire. Jupiter’s fire being the expansive quality that is the lighter fluid necessary for the flames to take hold and the control and contraction needed to maintain a product burning. The Sun moves of its own accord, in this case just stepping into the mantle of Cancer’s healing and homey waters. There is a natural soothing nature that occurs with the gentle warming of emotions (Cancer is ruled by the Moon) and intuitive gnosis vs. the full blaze onset that occurs with the Sun in any of its resonate Fire signs.

And, the Neptune Retrograde in its ruling sign of Pisces. For the time of the retrograde the tides will be still and the action that plays out will occur deep in the darkest and most hidden recesses of the emotional psyche. Compassion will be submerged and transformed to deepening discernment that comes only from love that has been drained of its original need to possess and is transformed into complete surrender to simply being. These are waters that have potential to heal.

The Lady of the Moon boasts the sliver of her waning as the aquarian airy nature of the cosmos flows through her streams of silvery hair. The vision is beautiful and powerful and the sense of the bigger picture and plan for the Universe is etched in the streams of moonlight.

The Longest Day! The Deepest Healing….

I would like to suggest that you take this day as a day for celebrating you and simply be in the warmth of the longest day with no concerns about what comes next. We’ve had that play out as a common theme for several months now and everyone is frayed and worn from the efforts. Even joyous events take their toll, so honor that as well. Access the peak of solar energy and the promise it holds for renewal and replenishment to draw into every cell of your being for use in whatever comes ahead.

So, here’s the metaphor and visual. Your favorite swimming spot. Sumer Solstice’ balmy heat as the light of the day’s sun slowly begins to give way. You reach out to grab onto the rope that has been your access to the cooling and deep waters below. And, just as the last of the day’s light colors the sky crimson, you swing out, let go and fall into deep and darkened waters. The water envelopes you like a soft shell ready to receive and cushion. The sun has almost fully set and the water is very dark and you feel the rushing of so many millions of tiny beads of water around you, you relax and allow yourself to sink as deeply as needed. These waters are exactly what was needed to cool and begin the healing of your body that was exposed for too long in the peak of this Solstice’ Sun. You reach the apex of depth and the ascent begins. No effort, just surrender to the natural physics of the dive and the rise. You reach the surface, breathe in the fresh air and swim to shore. Darkness surrounds you and the sign of renewal glistening in shiny droplets on your skin under the vision of Mother Moon’s waning sliver.

Tomorrow is another day, another opportunity. The day will be shortened ever so slightly, but this favorite place of diving deeply will be accessible. Time will stand still in this sacred space of your making and the tender and burned skin from the day prior will begin its healing.

The Full Moon of Spring’s Promise

Full Moon in Libra and the Vernal Equinox

This Spring Equinox holds the power of a Full Moon in astrological Libra, a sign of elemental Air and Cardinal modality. Mother Moon is shining brightly, radiant in her mantle as Spring Goddess and Mother Creatrix and in the beauty and harmony of astrological Libra. This energy holds the potential of being able to see not only the beauty that is held in the potential of Spring’s grace but also in the mantle and cloak that is presented. Whether it be the care and nurturance of the Mother or the youthful exuberance of the Maiden, life flows strong and abundantly this time of the year. The Equinox provides the pause to “smell the roses” that will be and to see the first shoots of what is pushing up through cold ground.

The time of the Vernal Equinox is represented as the Maiden Goddess moves and awakens the fertile energy of the green world’s seed of potential for enlivening. An Equinox occurs at the mid-point between Solstices and the space of equal day light and night. This can be used as the point of integration and synthesis of the work and effort offered beginning at teach of the Solstices.

The Vernal Equinox holds the product of renewal and the stirrings of the increasing state of awareness illuminated by the potential that is held within the fertile space of manifest form. We find the space of balance within ourselves and seek out the opportunity to shine that light more brightly as it has strengthened and we open to taking in more of the light that surrounds us.

Astrological Libra supports these efforts of seeking harmony and balance. Libra is concerned with the mental process, that identifies what is beauty and how that beauty translates in terms of what we consider to be balance. Not equality, but a more subtle and refined balance that occurs only when the mind (consciousness) allows the veil of illusion to be lifted and all can be discerned with clarity. Libra is of the Cardinal modality, which means that its primary directive is one of beginnings and “quick” starting if need be whatever is needed in the chain of process that produces new life.

The fullness of this moon’s grace sheds its light on the fertile soil of seedlings quickening. The harmony flows in what will take root and what is not viable, no matter ow beautiful in its visage. Remember that weeds, arise from this fertile soil, as well. Weeds, considered as the ugly harbingers that crowd out the beautiful flower and food. But, consider that without these weeds to activate the soil, and to bring our attention into actively nurturing what we wish to cultivate and grow, those tender, beautiful seedlings may wither from neglect.

February’s Super Full Moon-Pulling at the Tides

Super Full Moon in Virgo

This morning the moon waxes Full in the astrological sign of Virgo, and holds the auspicious designation of being a “Supermoon”. Virgo is of the earth energy and as a Mutable Modality, that structure and strength of manifest strivings out-picture as analytical scrutiny and filter of whatever comes into the purview of Virgo’s application. In this case, the watery depths of emotion’s gate-Mother Moon in her glorious fullness-receives the potent restraints and filters of earth’s shorelines.

Additionally, this moon is a “Supermoon”. A supermoon occurs when the moon is closest to the Earth and in this case when Full it appears (to the naked eye) slightly larger and its effects on the tides is felt more significantly particularly, 2-4 days after the Full Moon occurrence.

On my way into work this morning (still dark) I came out of my house to greet a beautiful, bright and huge moon that remained along my route to work. It was a surreal moment of almost feeling as though I was able to drive straight into the Moon herself. This image alone, pulled at my emotions and a welling up of response from the beauty, sheer mass and radiance of this celestial body reminded me of my place in the cosmos and the privilege of seeing such a sight.

EarthSky: World’s Biggest Supermoon February 19th

Althought eh emphasis is on the brightness and light of the Full Moon there is the antithesis to this that lay more occultly cloaked as the Black Sun that polarizes this Full Bright Moon. The Black Sun has many things assigned to its use, qualities and meanings, but in this case I am calling on its energy to stand as the counter weight – Sun and Moon in constant dance with one another – as feminine and masculine, form and force – play out their dynamics.

Add to this a polarity of Light to what lay in the darkness (the Moon has no natural light of its own) and Darkness of what blazing in the light of Sun’s grace. And, the time is ripe for Virgo to weave the magick of sorting through what can be drawn together, refined and ultimately remade and readied for manifest expression. This Moon’s potential lay in refining and enhancing what and how we feel.

Pulling at the Tides

I propose that we dive deeper into the waters that lay hidden beneath this full moon of light. The resultant pulling on the tides of the waters we hold within and our floodgates of heart and intuitive gnosis have the opportunity for a clearing away and filtering of what will provide the composting of wisdom that lay within the Light of the Sun and its dark reflection on a Moon of potential.

4th Qrt Moon in Scorpio-Descent

I chose to wait for today to post, rather than join in the plethora of posting regarding the recent Super Full Moon. Today the Moon wanes in 4th Qrt. and astrological Scorpio is ever present in the world’s affairs. Scorpio promises an opening of your senses, both psychic and physical, but you must first be willing to surrender to those darker waters and descend into a realm of complexity and mystery. This, of course is only one aspect of the trinity of Scorpio’s assignations- the Scorpion (much darker and unpredictable)- the Eagle (more selective and discerning in its energy) and the Phoenix (the rendering of resistance and the blazing energy that heals and conquers).

What I have chosen for today is the much darker aspect, the space of allowing yourself to surrender and dissolve into the darkness of your nature, so that healing and reconciliation may begin, rendering you empowered and strengthened in the Light of your being. I am proposing that you engage all of your senses in this exploration and release all expectations of what you will find on thus journey of descent into the core of your being.

Lady Moon is donning the mantle of her 4th/Last Qrt. phase. A time of release and rest. A time of gathering all that will be needed to actualize and fulfill her promise of burgeoning brightness when next she dons her cloak of Newness. We too are in the midst of this cycle. And, we as children of this Divine presence are capable of biding our time; pulling the darkness closer around and trusting that the Light that we are infused with will blossom into the path of productivity and hope we desire.

I am offering you two pathworkings to begin this work. One, which provides the keys towards your descent into becoming the fertile darkness that holds the mystery of renewed and regenerated life. And, the second is one of rekindling the spark and allowing the space of hope and healing to become the synthesized YOU ready to begin anew at the next New Moon. May your journey be full and enriching and may what you create from those efforts inform all of your actions….

New Moon in Capricorn-Take it Slow

We stand in the shadow of a New Moon in earthy astrological Capricorn, fired in the backdraft of Uranus stationing direct on January 2nd. New Moons flow abundantly in the potential of what can be. We have the additional support of the Solar Month cloaked in the strength of Capricorn; the energies of Mother Moon and Father Sun holding the power and cardinal energy of scaling the heights as you plunge into the depths (the Sea-Goat of Capricorn).

Uranus is a planet of electrical impulse. It is the higher amplification of Mercury’s communicative style. Mercury aligns as the phone’s switchboard and Uranus is the motherboard of a computer that is instantaneous and lightning speed in relay. When this planet stations retrograde, the build up of neuro-electric energy is palpable. People become short tempered and irritable as information pulses through at speeds that are not easily traversed. So, this New Moon is directly in the line of Uranian energy that provides the backdraft to light things up as new trails are blazed.

Capricorn’s energy is one of slow and precise placement. As an earth sign, this lends a heavier action to all that proceeds from this Sea-Goat’s movement. The tendency is often to remain solidly anchored in place’ hesitant and unsure of the footing, despite having the innate and organic balance and stability much like the goat traversing a very steep slope.

Partial Solar Eclipse

In the waxing light of the New Moon, a partial Solar Eclipse is underway at 8:41p.m.

In the dance Divine, the Sun and Moon line up (see diagram) with the Moon passing through Earth and Sun. We have a triad of earth energy flowing. Fire (Sun) of Earth (Capricorn)- Water (Moon) of Earth (Capricorn) and Earth of EARTH (our planetary home).

What a grounded way to launch the first New Moon of 2019! This night will launch beginnings that are solid and filled with the power of manifest form. This night will gather the enlivening of the Sun-flowing into the healing of the Moon as we stand in bounty of Earth and all of her glory. Take it slow and ease into what you wish to bring into fullness as the Moon waxes Full in Leo on January 21st…

Full Moon in the Afterglow!

December 21st.

Yesterday we basked in the anticipation of the Sun’s rising and the promise of longer days filled with light. The Sun transited into its solar month of astrological Capricorn and with this Full Moon in astrological Cancer, Sun and Moon truly are in an earth filled dance of strength and emotional nurturing.

Mother Moon is the ruling planet of Cancer and so this fullness is one of being embraced and held in the light of one who gazes upon the face of Her creation and cannot help but feel joy and love. The ebb and flow of the tides of this graceful bounty are ones that gently carry the heart filled desires and wishes of its seekers to the shores of great bounty and with Father Sun holding the port of earthy Capricorn, you will arrive bolstered and supported to dig deeply into the sands of your making.

So, with all of this blah, blah about signs and correspondences what does this Full Moon really offer?

This has been an exceptionally difficult year for many, Resiliency has been hard-won and claiming one’s power has slipped tenuously through fingers that desperately were holding on. But, there have also been moments of great joy and overcoming. We have stood strong as community(ies) and times those we would least have expected have been our strongest support and nurturers of the potential we had overlooked.

And, now we stand at the threshold of one year ending and another soon to begin. We have the power to rewrite our stories and to seek out connections that will empower and bring joy. We have the strength to arise each morning declaring our truths (even, and especially when we think no one may take heed).

I know for many the holiday season is one of sorrow and dread. My wish is that you will feel the love that surrounds and recognize it as not having to be one of family, friends or situation, but love that you can cultivate within yourself, because you are enough.

On this day that stands in the afterglow of the Winter Solstice, my wish for you is one of standing each day in the light of the Sun and feeling the growth of that light, minute by minute, increasing in its longevity. That you might discover surprises in your journey of people that are like-minded and open to the potential in everyone. My hope is that you will trust your abilities to scale the heights and reach deeply into the sea of waters that inform and heal.
