Waning Moon in Aquarius

Sun Transits into Astrological Cancer

Neptune Retrograde in Astrological Pisces (d. Nov. 27th)
10:36a.m. (EDT)

Tomorrow morning we welcome the Summer Solstice and the longest day before light gives way to darkness. There is a lot going on with the solar transit into Cancer and a Neptune Retrograde that will remain through November 27th. The Moon wanes in astrological Aquarius and we are already in the throes of Jupiter (Sagittarius), Saturn (Capricorn) and Pluto (Capricorn) Retrogrades taking hold in April. Everybody wants in on the party and everyone wants to be the focus of attention. So, what to do with all of this palpable energy?

To begin with, just breathe! Take a load off and if you are able and the weather accommodates, spend some quality time outside tomorrow reveling in the light. Better yet, find a natural setting-beach, woods, mountains-and drink in the power and splendor of our world unadorned and embraceable and ready for the reciprocity of healing. Feeling better now? Okay, let’s get to the magick.

We have all of the elements represented in this line-up and the ability to connect these energies to align with the alchemical and elemental nature of our being. Saturn and Pluto have been hanging out in earthy Capricorn, ensuring that every step of the way has been carefully executed just as the goat navigates t he steepest of cliffs. Saturn naturally strives towards structure and a timestamp that is of no world’s making. Pluto heralds the death of what should be relegated to the past to serve s as the inspiration of the futures endeavors. This earthiness directly impacts our physical state of being and all that we relinquish in the transformation of rendering from the past, seeking the vision of the future while solidly anchored to a present that is instantaneously becoming the past that informs our future.

Jupiter and the Sun lend their own vision of Fire. Jupiter’s fire being the expansive quality that is the lighter fluid necessary for the flames to take hold and the control and contraction needed to maintain a product burning. The Sun moves of its own accord, in this case just stepping into the mantle of Cancer’s healing and homey waters. There is a natural soothing nature that occurs with the gentle warming of emotions (Cancer is ruled by the Moon) and intuitive gnosis vs. the full blaze onset that occurs with the Sun in any of its resonate Fire signs.

And, the Neptune Retrograde in its ruling sign of Pisces. For the time of the retrograde the tides will be still and the action that plays out will occur deep in the darkest and most hidden recesses of the emotional psyche. Compassion will be submerged and transformed to deepening discernment that comes only from love that has been drained of its original need to possess and is transformed into complete surrender to simply being. These are waters that have potential to heal.

The Lady of the Moon boasts the sliver of her waning as the aquarian airy nature of the cosmos flows through her streams of silvery hair. The vision is beautiful and powerful and the sense of the bigger picture and plan for the Universe is etched in the streams of moonlight.

The Longest Day! The Deepest Healing….

I would like to suggest that you take this day as a day for celebrating you and simply be in the warmth of the longest day with no concerns about what comes next. We’ve had that play out as a common theme for several months now and everyone is frayed and worn from the efforts. Even joyous events take their toll, so honor that as well. Access the peak of solar energy and the promise it holds for renewal and replenishment to draw into every cell of your being for use in whatever comes ahead.

So, here’s the metaphor and visual. Your favorite swimming spot. Sumer Solstice’ balmy heat as the light of the day’s sun slowly begins to give way. You reach out to grab onto the rope that has been your access to the cooling and deep waters below. And, just as the last of the day’s light colors the sky crimson, you swing out, let go and fall into deep and darkened waters. The water envelopes you like a soft shell ready to receive and cushion. The sun has almost fully set and the water is very dark and you feel the rushing of so many millions of tiny beads of water around you, you relax and allow yourself to sink as deeply as needed. These waters are exactly what was needed to cool and begin the healing of your body that was exposed for too long in the peak of this Solstice’ Sun. You reach the apex of depth and the ascent begins. No effort, just surrender to the natural physics of the dive and the rise. You reach the surface, breathe in the fresh air and swim to shore. Darkness surrounds you and the sign of renewal glistening in shiny droplets on your skin under the vision of Mother Moon’s waning sliver.

Tomorrow is another day, another opportunity. The day will be shortened ever so slightly, but this favorite place of diving deeply will be accessible. Time will stand still in this sacred space of your making and the tender and burned skin from the day prior will begin its healing.

Full Moon in Capricorn – Sun in Cancer
June 28.2018
12:53a.m.

Seems as though everywhere you look, people are seeking balance. Balance in the personal; balance in the private; balance in the public and balance in the world! Now when I say balance, I don’t mean equanimity. Balance means compromise and finding just enough of something to weigh in and complete what has been lightened of the load. I chose this perspective in working with this Full Moon.

Let’s start with a few astronomical details. When the Moon waxes Full, it is opposite in placement to the Sun on the astrological wheel. Traditionally this alignment, or opposition, is considered a place of tension between two conflicting energies. Tension is a good thing! Tension produces a new outcome from two things that act in friction with one another. It also requires us to stretch and grow in ways that may be uncomfortable for a space of time, but if you apply the pressure wisely and seek the space of compromising balance the rewards are a birthing of the best attributes of each.

So, what does this all mean? The Full Moon (Water-emotions,intuition, healing) is in the astrological sign of Earthy Capricorn; a Cardinal (new beginnings and the catalytic thrust) modality. The Sun (Fire-strength, power, magnetism) is in Watery Cancer, another Cardinal modality. Elementally, this gives us the benefit of Fire, Water and Earth. The opposition of Water (Moon) flowing within the realm of Earth’s manifest form (Capricorn) pulling on the opposite energy of Fire (Sun) heating up the Waters (Cancer) of emotions that flow from the space of family and home (Cancer). IF not tended correctly, those moody waters that span the depths and the heights(Capricorn) of expression can overrun and flood what hold the potential of quickened and enlivened (Solar enlightened) feelings that arise from the safety and comfort of a self-chosen home and family (Cancer). The sweet spot is what lay in the middle that gives the promise of just enough strength (Sun) and loving support (Cancer) that moves with assurance (Capricorn) as it explores how far its powerful reach extends; just like a gentle ebb and flow of the tides (Moon) as the shoreline is reshaped and reformed by its efforts. Here’s the fun part in working with these energies….

Pause:
Take a moment to simply “be” in the full light and downpour of Mother Moon’s loving gifts. Drink in the light of Father Sun’s potency in seeking the magnetic radiance of a most special solar child within waters that soothe and transform. Think and feel both of these extremes; the coolness of the Moon and the heat of the Sun; rays of each other’s brilliance interwoven as streams meandering and etching their imprint in the foundation of earth’s beauty-of your beauty.

Reflect
Now, reflect on how this energy feels as it pours in from either extreme of night and day; light and dark. What will you allow each of these gifts to bathe in their gifts? Where will you find the place of centeredness and balance? Your Heart (Water) and your Will/Intention (Fire) are ready to coalesce and reshape the foundations and landscape (Earth) of who you perceive yourself to be in this world; and deep in your vessel of corporeal form. Reflect- mirror back to yourself the image of yourself as Sun and Moon, as Earth and Water.

Then, Go!
Breathe and go! Run with this image of you in all of your parts, a newly birthed being of Sun and Moon finding that point of tension and resolution of Fire (Sun) and Water (Moon) flowing through a form and way of being (Earth) that is a compromise and composite of opposing energies.

I don’t know about you, but this Full Moon I need something more to flow through the lunar gates. I need a new perspective on learning to bridge the inherent cycles that cause the Sun and the Moon to move in their celestial dane through the Solar Year and the Lunar Months. As they say, I need to see both sides of the coin and somewhere within the differences that present is a mid-point of outpouring. So, maybe for this moon you will meet me in the middle!

What If? New Moon in Cancer

New Moon in Cancer
10:31p.m. (EDT)

Sun in Cancer

This New Moon is hot on the heels of Wednesday’s Summer Solstice (6.22.2017) and Solar Transition into the astrological sign of Cancer. Cancer is all about family, home, security, feeling valued and feeling safe. Everything that we all hope for in our earthly existence and much of how those things play out in our lives are based on the nebulous balance of control and surrender.

We have emerged from the day of the Summer Solstice, basking in the longest day of light and feeling the sun’s warmth wrap around us like a soothing blanket welcomed in coming in from a cold blustery day. The Solstice energy is one of over abundance of one energy so that the other may take its hold and ultimately do the work of preparation necessary to achieve the balance and momentary equilibrium that will follow at the time of the equinox.

How we use that over abundance is framed by our perspective of what is safe, what is of value, what will provide security and where will we find the solace of home and family if everything does not go as planned. But, what if we could take hold of all that is of benefit and unconditionally trust that all will proceed “as it should”. Mind, I did not say, positively, negatively or other. Each of those states has both boons and failures. That’s where trust comes into play. Knowing that regardless of the semantics we use to identify a situation as beneficial or negative there is a fair amount of the other in each. We are able to celebrate the longest day, despite the knowledge that it also heralds the descent into lessening light and colder weather.

We know that this will continue until it peaks and then we begin the process of calling to ourselves the light that we “trust” will glow brightly with the Sun’s strengthening and return at the Winter Solstice. In the meanwhile we are called indoors and seek the warmth and comfort of home, cuddle in with family as we “wait out” the darkness and redefine what these things truly mean to us. All very Cancerian pursuits prompted by a singular point on the Great Wheel and astronomical time that became the inspiration for diving more deeply into those places and people that offer security.

What if we allowed these re-defining moments to become a continuous flow of wave and current? The emotional sea that keeps us afloat regardless of the stormy seas of outer conflict and disappointments. The safe haven in which we could find the comfort of healing and loosen our fear of drowning in the dark abyss of waters that lay beneath the surface. What if we stopped struggling to rise above the waters and instead embraced them in all of their fullness as they crest and recede in the wake of our life’s journey?

Retrogrades:

Saturn in Sagittarius (April – August 25) – Mid-point
Neptune in Pisces (June 16 – November 22)
Pluto in Capricorn (April 20 – September 28)

We have our planetary family of allies in our journey of ‘What if”. The focus and intention of the retrograde slowing calls out, “What if you heeded my lessons and drank deeply from the introspective wisdom I offer? “.

In this lunation and Solar month of Cancer’s Cardinal (initializing energies that catalyze the first beginnings) Waters of life (and light) all that gives structure and organization to what we value and hold dear as our space of sanctuary is held in the wisdom of Saturn’s regimentation. Saturn is in the Fiery sign of Sagittarius-Mutable and flexible in its contractive and expansive desire to reach beyond and act. This Saturnian wisdom holds the light of fires that seek out others of like-mind and intention and its gift for this Cancerian New Moon is in the “What if, I trust in myself and allow my heart and my emotions to seek out a broader family of those I treasure and who treasure me? What might I learn about love, and my ability to love and be loved? And, how will that change the structure I have built for myself of what can be? “.

Retrograde Neptune in its ruling sign of Pisces allows for a depth of exploring what has been buried deep in the seas of our willingness to trust. Mutable and flexible Pisces gives of itself unconditionally; no ocean is too deep, no lake to long and no sea too stormy to get to the place of love and compassion that transcends its needs for that of the other. This is the ultimate giver, supporter and nurturer of each individual, seeing all as an extension of the beauty and Divinity of what is the source of its creation. What if you allowed this unconditional love to flood through you? What if you surrendered to its gifting you with the peace and sanctuary of forgiveness, hope and the truth of this beauty flowing through all despite the angry seas of emotion that we may encounter? This sea’s gift for this Cancerian New Moon calls to you to “Sink into my healing waters. Have no fear, you will not drown. I will gently support your descent as we move down deeper than you have braved alone. What is seen as murkiness and illusion in the refracting of my light in these depths, is simply a mirror reflecting back the beauty of your Soul. The clarity that you seek is the real illusion, for only that which is rigid and unyielding will produce that image. You are the flow of this sea itself and what you fear in my depths, is of your loving creation. So, fear not and instead see the beauty of my bioluminescent life below and the sanctuary found in this watery home.”

And, finally the ally of Pluto, master of the unknown and keeper of the mystery of re-membering the past and future as a gift to the present. Pluto in earthy Capricorn forms the foundation and acts as the scaffolding of confidence to explore what cannot be seen; proceeding from a place of security that has upheld on every occasion of doubt. What if, we stood at the gates of the unknown and called out to what lay beyond trusting that what answered would be precisely where and what we would need to grow. Capricorn allows for growth that spans the depths and reaches the heights, all the while being held in safety and surety that you will not falter. This is only true, if you take those first steps and if you allow the “What if, I don’t succeed?” become the “What if I excel?”.  Pluto’s gift for this Cancerian New Moon dares you “to try. To trust in the process. To recognize all (and who) that supports and upholds your heart’s desires. And, in that moment of allowing your heart to sing and move in the beauty of its birthright, you will draw from the lessons of the past, and use them to anchor yourself in the present as you look towards a future that becomes the Cancerian space of home, family and security.”

What If..

So, on this day of the New Moon of Beginnings in the Watery Seas of Cancer I return to the question I posed at the start…

“What if we allowed these re-defining moments to become a continuous flow of wave and current? To become the emotional sea that keeps us afloat regardless of the stormy seas of outer conflict and disappointments. The safe haven in which we could find the comfort of healing and loosen our fear of drowning in the dark abyss of waters that lay beneath the surface. What if we stopped struggling to rise above the waters and instead embraced them in all of their fullness as they crest and recede in the wake of our life’s journey?”

What if?….

Keeping It Real! Full Moon in Taurus

Full Moon in Taurus
8:05am (EDT)

Sun in Scorpio

The moon waxes full in the astrological sign of Taurus this morning bringing an opportunity to explore what grounds us as the waters run deep and passionately. Taurus is an Earth sign of the Fixed Modality. Earth provides stability and a place from which to grow, inclusive of all that is physical and manifest in quality.  The Fixed Modality provides an energy of structure, being able to synthesize what seeks to contribute more of its energy and drawing that into a space that can transform and make more useable the by product as it flows out to a more flexible state. The symbol of the Bull is associated with Taurus and that selection alone gives rise to understanding of how strong this foundation can be.

Taurus is the strength that stands its ground secure in the sheer power it knows it can exert in holding steady whatever its focus may be. Apply this to the lunarscape of emotions and you have the recipe for staying the course and a certain predictability of response.  It is for this reason that workings using the energy of a Taurus Moon benefit the most when they involve a shoring up of what we consider out foundations of heart to be.

You know the proverbial image of the bull in the china shop reeking havoc on the delicate collectibles? I like to think f this scenario not so much as a representation of the awkwardness and lack of grace held in an animal that is far too large and solidly built to be in such refined spaces; but rather as an idea of how strength and girth carves out new boundaries for its impact when inhibited by what is far too fragile in the first place. What is in this situation is not the bull, who by the way, is simply doing and moving in the same way it would in any setting. The objects that are held static and on display to be appreciated, simply for their beauty rather than the actual function they may serve are what provide the setting for chaotic dismantling.

As with each Full Moon alignment, the Sun is directly opposite the Moon; in this case the astrological energy of this solar month is that of Scorpio. Scorpio is a Water sign of the Fixed Modality and has the infamous identification as the sign of excess, addictions, uncontrolled passions and seeking into the depths of shadow and the occult, never to return to the real world again. And, as with each of the signs of the Zodiac, these are only the predispositions towards imbalance in what Scorpio has as its gift.

Scorpio is also one that has the ability to truly transform. The symbol of usual reference is that of the Scorpion, hidden and ready to strike out whether provoked, or not. There are also two other associations. One being the Eagle and having the keenest of sight, perched above and able to select that which is appropriate prey to nourish and sustain. The third is the Phoenix, the creature that purposefully cleanses with the Fires it has created of its own free will and rises from the ashes, stronger, more beautiful and wiser than in its previous iteration. And, during this solar month, the Sun is shining brightly into those areas that need some of that energetic housecleaning and transformation. This becomes the funeral pyre that burns away the dross of emotional baggage that inhibits growth and forces the death and rebirth of something better than before.

Traditionally, these two points of alignment between Sun and Moon are considered oppositions and the implication is one of a tug of war; each pulling on the other in an effort to upset the status quo. This opposition is precisely what is needed to draw the best from both and force each to play nice with one another. I use the word force here in that the process often begins with resistance and the need for will and desire to take hold and set the right intention that will attract what is needed from the energy of both.

Keeping It Real!

I see this Full Moon as a rare opportunity to allow the freedom to explore, indulge and fuel my passions while holding the intention of remaining firmly anchored in the strength of my manifest power. Scorpio is highly intuitive and as such, it is not always easy to sort out what is reality, fantasy or something else altogether. But, if I make use of Taurus’ deep connection to all that constitutes the physical world I live in, I can allow the tether line to reach a little further into the astral and etheric realms, bringing back that which is needed.

Both Moon and Sun are providing the light that illuminates the emotional landscape that is held in the deepest parts of self. Taurus provides the vessel of physical form that Scorpio may work its magick of transforming the desires of heart that are both intuitive and real in their actions.

Mother Moon sits high
In darkened starlit sky
Body strong and full
Guardian and protectress
Of earth’s lands that she surveys.

Sun reaches deep into
Waters dark and thick
Pulling to the surface
The mysteries of the heart.

Moon and Sun each light
Illuminating what is to be.

Moon and Sun companions
Birthing what is to be.

I sit in the light of both
Dipping deep into my desire
Passion rises like waters
Boiling up and form gives way
To visions and on lofty wings
I soar and fly.

Sun my raging passion and
Moon the healing balm that
Quiets the pain of change.

I strain and resist the truth
Of my inner sight and wings
Beat furiously carrying me
High into the unknown night.

In the arms of Mother Moon
I find quiet – rest and rebirth
The flames have risen
The ashes been rendered
And to earth and form
I now return.

The labors of my journey
In the fullness of Moon
Heart’s orb now held within
My body of strength as Sun
Commands the day.

Many Blessings of Taurus Full Moon’s Strength……

Back to the Middle and Around Again: Pluto Direct

26048712_sPluto Stations Direct
September 25
2:55am (EDT)

Distant planet Pluto stations direct early tomorrow morning moving from its intensity of retrograde that began back in April of this year. Astrologically, this planet of mystery and depth remains in the Earthy and Cardinal sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is known as the “Sea-Goat” which speaks to its energy of navigating both the heights and depths of experience with sure-footedness and a very grounded demeanor. At times, this grounded predisposition leads to inactivity as just the precise placement of action is sought; a pursuit which is not always readily attained. So, with this caution applied to Pluto, the planet of regeneration, death, crossings and those far away and unknown experiences, you may have felt stuck in the same holding pattern of expression and the replaying of the same life’s lessons.

Astrologically, the planet Pluto rules the sign of Scorpio. Much like the ability of Capricorn’s Sea-Goat to reach deep into the emotional depths and rise to the mental heights, Scorpio is equally at home hidden in the earth(Scorpion), soaring for greater perspective (Eagle) and ascending within the Fires of Rebirth as the Phoenix. In this retrograde, Pluto’s shape-shifting is directed towards what is built as foundation (Capricorn) rather than intent upon reshaping the emotional selves. And, just as the Phoenix is the higher expression of emotion transformed into useable and regenerative desire, the goal of higher form here is one of knowledge of the truly Divine nature of our humanity held within the vessel of human form and experience.

I have always felt Pluto to be the point of return, that holds the patterns of all time. We cross the threshold of death (or release) carrying with us the lessons we have learned from experiencing that life. We enter into the unknown, hoping that we will return born anew and transformed through the gift of regeneration. We circle back, so to speak to what was our past, that has now begun our future as we stand in the present of our making. Pluto offers the gift of being able to simultaneously draw from our past, as we use the present action to weave the future that occurs seconds later.

The energy of this retrograde has been a drilling down deeply into the stores of what and who we are as manifest life forms. Think of drilling deeply into the earth, churning up soil, rock and more. Each layer being displaced in the uprising of this energy as the past story of each layer is revealed in present time. What is excavated dictates the response and reaction that will determine what the future steps will be.

Feeding into this revealing of sorts have been the counterpoints of Uranus (July 26) and Neptune (June 12) also being Retrograde. This gave the impetus of Fire (Uranus in Aries)- Water (Neptune in its Ruling sign of Pisces) and Earth (Pluto in Capricorn) weaving their magick of big and lasting change. Think the liquid flow of lava deep within the Earth’s core. I will be writing more about this over the weekend.

Now,as Pluto begins its cycle of return back to the mid-point of a present and processing state Mercury recently stationed Retrograde. This is the opportunity to slow down, unplug (from technology) and really listen to what your messenger self has to communicate about your experience of Pluto’s renewal. Take the time to carefully and thoughtfully review what contracts have been made during this Pluto retrograde at the level of Spirit and your place in the limitless flow of life, energy and intention brought into manifest form – namely you.

Take your time and assess your best vantage point to reach back to retrieve what of your past (lives) will inform this present form. Then, and only then move forward, each step with the sure-footedness of the (sea)Goat as you scale the mountain of the aspirations of your future being.

A Little Visualization:

Take some time looking at the picture I selected to accompany this post. Imagine the spinning of this top and its perfect point of balance as the cycle and flow of top and bottom move just so within the energy surrounding it. Each tip narrowing down(or up) to a thin and perfectly shaped point. If in perfect alignment it does not matter which end you begin the motion from, there are equal in their support of the center mass. This central point the place of flattening and leveling out providing enough circular surface to neither under or over tip. The top spins and simultaneously and seamlessly the energy of the top and bottom points spirals inward meeting centrally and providing the correct amount of tension for the center to spin, cutting through and creating its own vibration of energy rippling outwards, moving through time and space.

Now envision yourself as this top. The points of balance on either end, interchangeable and recyclable as past and future. Both points drawing inward to support the mass of your present experience. All simultaneously moving as one, yet distinctly apart. All shaping and reforming the energy that surrounds and is within you.

Full Moon in Pisces
2:35 p.m.

Sun in Virgo

Step softly into my arms
Feel the feathery brush of my kiss
For you are my Beloved
And I tremble within your embrace.

Our hearts beat strongly as one
Our bodies no longer defined and
I rest in the sweet breath of your exhale
Gazing back into your loving face.

Our union in rapture complete
Soul’s yearning finally at peace
The Illuminated One my beloved
Mirror of SELF in Divinity released.

The Moon waxed Full just a few hours ago and the atmosphere is filled with a quiet and gentleness that has not been so for some time now. It is a momentarily reprieve from some very dynamic and charged astrological energy and much like the solace found in the arms of a loved one after the battering of the world; this is a time to renew and languish in the healing waters. Mother Moon is in the astrological sign of Pisces, the mistress of compassion and healing;  and although She squared off with Saturn in Scorpio early this morning, the tension between the two is offset by Retrograde Neptune also in Pisces, the astrological sign it Rules.

Water is everywhere, Pisces and Scorpio- the Moon and Neptune – and Saturn has a part to play in the order it is striving towards much like the Mother that accepts nothing but the best for her beloved and will stop time itself to provide what is needed. The intuitive heart of Scorpio (Saturn) guides this process but what it reveals may not be what you feel is needed. Put aside fear of reaching into those dark waters and remember that change and ultimately transformation are the same components needed to heal a wound or repair a heart that has been broken.

There is a great depth to felt with this Full Moon; Neptune supporting that deeper reach into waters that are filled with unseen potential, but carry the gift of bioluminescence to protect and to light the way. Saturn in Scorpio provides the Gate to probe into those deeper mysteries of our emotions and intuitively seek what is needed to bring structure to a compassion that flows freely and strongly (Pisces) often without regard to its own nurturing. This is the tension of a conflict (square) that is balanced by foundational sides that are not so dissimilar in nature; each having a valid point and perspective in a tug of war between giving too much and holding back.

We can call upon the aid of clarity from the Sun in Virgo. Here we will find the balance of will and strength that has practiced long the work of analyzing, sorting and finding the best that can be had towards productive result. Here we have informed (Virgo being ruled by Mercury, the master communicator) Will that stimulates this flow of waters that rise high and reach deeply. Compassion, for self and others, loosened the hardest of hearts. Deep and abiding love for self and others, unblocks any challenge that wish to pull us away from a path of understanding. And, a heart that knows what lay on the surface as well as what remains in the abyss below can bring resolution to what prevents us from seeing the truth of the world.

Tonight I will hold my beloved
Tonight I will honor my ability to feel deeply and strongly
Tonight I will allow the hand of the Divine to guide me
Tonight I will breathe deeply into the gentle light of my compassionate self

Tonight I will hold my beloved
And the illusions of the world will fall away

All Fired Up, Again! – New Moon in Aries

March 20.2015

New Moon in Aries
5:36 a.m. (EDT)

Sun in Aries
6:45 p.m. (EDT)

Vernal (Spring) Equinox

A Solar Eclipse

Fiery New Beginnings

March 20th is packed to the brim with cosmic opportunity and new life. Not only does the Sun begin its Solar Temple journey anew, but we also have a New Moon, Solar Eclipse and the pause of balance that is the Vernal (Spring) Equinox). Wow!

This new moon occurs during the space of void as the moon has just completed its final outpourings of Pisces and crosses the threshold at 6:28 into the astrological sign of Aries. This is exactly, the out-picturing of that neutrality (void) between the match just hitting the surface of striking with purposeful intent (Pisces) and the motion of creating enough friction to produce a spark of new flame (Aries).

The Moon’s Phases-Back to Some Basics

There are many ways to honor the cycles of lunar phase; some being formal ritual (Esbat) and others being simple meditation or sitting under the light of the Full Moon and breathing in the energy and beauty of its force. For most, the Full Moon is the easiest to connect with given the visual presentation that graces a night sky if weather is clear. The phases of New and Dark Moon are not visible in presentation and connecting to these energies requires a fully open and responsive sense of awareness and being able to feel what cannot be seen yet is potent, viable and present nonetheless.

The New Moon is an excellent time to begin workings that require the energy of the initial flow needed for beginnings. One of the correlates would be the energy of the sunrise or dawn. A new day is a beginning that is packed full with the potential to become whatever you desire most by the time it reaches the fullness of mid-day. So too, the lunar cycle of the New Moon offers the opportunity to harness the energy of expansion towards the fullest expression of what you wish to bring into manifestation at the Full Moon.

The next point of focus is which of the astrological signs the moon phase flows through. Some considerations would be (in this case, Aries):

Keywords and Energy of the Astrological Sign:
Aries= enthusiasm, assertiveness, experimentation and fresh perspective

The Element of the Astrological Sign:
Fire= a call to action, will, transformation and ultimate change

The Modality of the Astrological sign:
Cardinal= the process of Initializing, catalyzing and crafting the beginnings of whatever this modality is applied to

Putting It All Together

Workings for a New Moon Ritual in Aries might include:

  • A dedication to a new plan of action
  • Breaking through the barriers that hold you from taking those first steps
  • Firing up your enthusiasm and asking for a new course of action to be revealed
  • Adding additional bolster to projects requiring deeper commitment of will and action

Meditations may include:

  • Sitting openly and receptively to enliven the spiritual will to right action
  • Calling the child in you to see with new vision and insight
  • Visioning to seek the place within that burns with the newly quickened fires that require tending and care as they are brought forward into the light of the Full Moon
and the maturing of the Solar Month.

Enter into these workings with the knowledge that you are anchored and strengthened by the outpouring of the Sun acting collaboratively on what you most desire. This is both a blessings and a caution as the combustible nature of sun and sign being in sync must also rely on the soothing, healing and newly warmed (Aries) waters of the Moon. The underlying current that flows through this New Moon is that of the first strike of a match; the crisp intent of the initial spark and the resultant flame that serves to Fire up the Will to become the blaze of new making.

Flame burns brightly
In milky white orb
Of New Moon’s darkness.

Innocence carries the
Lantern of desire’s
New goal and flame
Ebb and flows as
Will follow youth’s course.

One final striking and
The spark takes hold
A tiny flash of hope
That will blaze new trails.

We find ourselves now at the time of the Vernal Equinox and the exuberance of the Maiden takes hold. This is the pause of respite when there is equal balance of day and night. This is the point of integration and synthesis of the work and effort offered beginning at the Winter Solstice. The Vernal Equinox holds the product of renewal and the stirrings of the increasing state of awareness illuminated by the potential that is held within the fertile space of manifest form. We find the space of balance within ourselves and seek out the opportunity to shine that light more brightly as it has strengthened and we open to taking in more of the light that surrounds us. We begin the dance of enlivened exchange shifting eagerly between what has been and what will be in anticipation of the lover’s embrace and the sacred union to occur at Beltane….Read more at Womb of Light:

The Solar Eclipse

A Solar Eclipse occurs only at the time of a New Moon and when the Moon passes between Sun and Earth, partially or fully blocking the sun’s light. I think of this as a veiling of the Sun’s Light with the Moon’s energies acting like the polarized lenses of glasses. You are aware that the sunlight is strong and intensely bright, but the glare has been filtered and the shading serves to bring out the deepest and richest colors and details that would otherwise be lost in the brilliance of the light. Today’s eclipse is a partial one, so being receptive to where that greater detail ebbs and flows as the Moon moves across the path of the Sun of strengthening can give additional insight that is needed to begin the process of gaining more stable ground.

New Beginnings

I have always viewed the Solar Eclipse as a time when my emotional bodies (the moon) and intuitive senses are strengthened and illuminated by the Sun’s direct potency. This energy then can be drawn into my physical forma and manifest experience (Earth). With both Sun and Moon in Aries, the opportunity at this time is one of renewal and catalyzing a fresh beginning to action fueled by what I feel the most strongly about. This is further supported by the energy of the Spring Equinox- a space of balance of sunlight and darkness, the potential for harmonious flow between what would ordinarily be the extremes and the promise of fertile growth and flowering of what seeds are planted in these rich deep watery (Moon) beds of body (Earth).

On This Auspicious Day

On this day of new beginnings I will use this energy to tend to the seeds that need planting as a new project is begun. Spring calls to awakening all of the potential towards successful new growth and my physical being will stand in the strength of a catalytic Sun. I will bring my heart’s desires into balance with the physical actions needed to bring to fruition the goal of my working.

I will embrace my working wholly remembering that as Sun, Moon and Earth- Will, Heart and Manifest Form align anything can be accomplished. And, as the Maiden breathes life into the pause of integration of all parts of self, I will carry this energy forwards towards the Fullness of mother moon in Libra as the waxing of my intent flows in the waters of quickening.

A Tree of Loving Return – Sun in Pisces

Posted in Astrology, Jupiter, Magick, Moon Tide, Neptune, Qabalah, The Temple of the Sun on March 16, 2015 by themagickalpen

I dreamed that I was whole
I dreamed that the word was at peace
I dreamed that all of life understood love
I dreamed that mind knew its own power
I dreamed that wisdom was plentiful
I dreamed that injustice loosened its hold
I dreamed that humanity knew its worth
I dreamed that the work of this world
Called me into the seas of the next
I dreamed that I was whole and complete
As the running waters that ebb and flow within
A loving Tree ran through me

As we enter the Temple of the Sun, Qabalistically we are entering into connection with the central sphere on the Tree of Life, Tiphareth. The name given this sphere is Beauty and the energy is one of synthesis through sacrifice and integration through refinement of the sum of all of its parts. This is much the same energy that we experience in the course of a Solar year. The energy of each of the Zodiacal signs, their element and modality are modified and expressed through the brilliance of the Sun. And, in keeping with the evolutionary process of movement from one sign to the next, each is informed by the previous sign’s energy and contributes a part of its dynamic into the sign that follows. Please see the end of this post for recommendations about learning more about the Tree of Life.

Pisces and Neptune (Jupiter) on the Tree

Astrologically, we have learned that Pisces is ruled by Neptune, the planet of depth, emotion and quickening within birthing waters that are charged with life force. We have experienced the focus of an astrological energy that is loving in its nature and seeking always the place of harmonious interaction. This is the energy of the final sign of the Zodiacal Wheel and it is the vision of the Twin Fish that hints at the mystery and synchronicity to be achieved when heart is attuned to another.

Pisces is the quintessential water sign. Neptune as its ruler is aptly paired with a sign that reaches so deep into the seas and seeks the treasure of a golden heart that beats gently in every creature it encounters. Pisces is the dreamer and through the veiling of murky waters those dreams can take on a vastly different vision, which when brought to the surface does not glitter quite so brightly. The imperfections that are found are forgiven within a Piscean approach, but the level of discernment that is often needed is not as keen in some instances as it should be, leaving Pisces to pick up the pieces of those broken dreams.

The secondary (or original) ruler of Pisces is Jupiter. This is easily envisioned as the ebb and flow of waters that spread themselves too thin at times and go too far out into the ocean’s depths at others. Jupiter puts some of the illusory nature of those deep waters into perspective, allowing Pisces to see into those depths from the vantage point of seeing clear the way through as it parts the waters to reveal a seabed that is alive and rich in life and the nutrients that sustain it. But, that has to be the desired outcome, otherwise Jupiter remains contracted and tightly guarding what needs revealing.

Within the Qabalistic Tree, Pisces and Neptune hold their power in the Sphere of Kether and the Paths of the Tree – 29th and 23rd and Jupiter flows expansively in the 21st. Although, traditionally Kether is given no planetary attribution – the swirlings of creation being one of its assignations- I have also seen Neptune placed here and with it the endings and beginnings that lay within the creative potential of Pisces. When we speak of the energy of Pisces as an experience of compassion, non-judgment and great intuitive sensitivity we are calling forth those waters that run deep and forever cause lasting change wherever their path may lead.

This is the way of the Tree itself; to provide the necessary compassion to understand something more than itself and catalyze its ability to emanate and to do so as a purposeful and intended act of love for what it aspires to know. This is the loving creator/creatrix who willingly splits itself into the necessary components to ensure that new life will begin.

This is the desire for Creation that flows through Kether as the Godhead and is reflected down and through itself in the depths of refined emotions and the sensuous tides of seas that hold the experiences that are the source of the desire to BECOME.

Kether (Neptune) and Tiphareth (Sun)

Pisces Tree

Tiphareth and the Sun

Each of the Sephiroth and connecting Paths of the Tree of Life holds correspondence with a planetary and/or zodiacal energy. The physical Sun stands centrally within our solar system, providing light and heat. Tiphareth provides the space of transformation and the full force generator that distributes what is processed so it may be utilized and transmuted by whatever it emanates its energy into. This is the sacrificial aspect of this sphere. This is the action of enlivening within its own source to ensure the continuation of the creative process begun within the other components of the Tree. So we begin in this central hub of universal energy and move up the Mystic’s Path towards the Godhead or Crown of Source and the Limitless All of Kether.

Kether: The Sphere of the Limitless All

Nothing and everything
The endless void fills all time
Until…

One moves in the silence
Stretching and reaching
Towards the other as two
Swiftly take flight.

They mingle and join
Each claiming their own side
So three may point the way.
Each base stretched far and wide.

Foundations are laid
By another close at hand
Who opens the four sealed gates.
Disruption and creative force
Issues forth as the skillfully crafted
Shield of focus reflects the five.

The light is fixed
The seeker is found
As outpour of healing grace
Gives way to the
Harmonious six.

Each walks a path of experience
Pulling and gathering from
Vista’s extremes.
Wisdom and lessons hard won
Fill what moves within.

As six expands to become seven
The meandering web that
Connects becomes entwined.

A continuum of dual
Portal opening and eight
The final climax of force contained.

Like amoebas they move and
Wiggle and stretch and pull
And strain until the
Tension and release
Catapult them over
The initiatory threshold of
Death’s nine gates.

All scatter and disperse
Once again seamlessly
Part of the void of the all
Until…

Once again the singular one rises
Reaching out towards its
Newly quickened mate.

Upon entering Kether on the Tree you have reached the Source or the singular prime point of creation in its descent towards manifest form. Using the analogy of the flood-lights in a theater this is the process of Kether in emanation and creation. The lights themselves are pure white, but with the addition of colored gels that cover the lights something new is created. Specific moods and nuances are evoked. Each light appears to be different, yet if you strip it back to its core state, they are all singular white lights.

Kether is at once the most complex of the spheres and the most simple. This is reflected in its many names and attributions. To some degree these are influenced by the essence of its energy as much as the cultural and occult clues to the nature of the sphere that are contained within. Below is a listing of some of the more widely used names:

• Existence of Existence
• The Concealed of the Concealed
• The Ancient of the Ancient Ones

As you see from the semantics of the three above, the duality or doubling causes a unique polarity to arise. It is also a greater emphasis that is given to the attribute described, which alludes to the timelessness of the energetic construct of Kether. This is the construct of both the Primordial Point and the Point within the Circle.

Kether is the First Sphere on the Tree of Life. This is the place of both beginnings and endings; for in order that something may be born, something must be released to allow for its growth. Kether is assigned the Root of Air as element. And it is Pure Mind that is free to experience all loving compassion for it sees the imperfection of perfection and holds no judgment of what should be. One is the singular place of being that carries with it the hidden space that is more than just itself alone.

The space above and beyond the sphere of Kether is considered The Three Veils of Negative Existence.

What Lives in the Great Above
The Three Veils of Negative Existence

Three Veils

The veils reside above the tree and represent the levels of non-existence just prior to creative force. This is the space of the Great Unmanifest Universe.

Ayin is translated as “nothing” and is the highest and furthest away from Kether. It is the complete absence of existence.

Ayin Soph is the middle veil that emanates in turn from Ayin and is the space of no limit. It is force that is formless and without container or restraint of limitation.

Ayin Soph Aur is the closest veil to the Tree itself and emanates from the limitless nature of Ayin Soph. It means “limitless or eternal light”.

In consideration of the sphere of Kether, it is these Three Veils that create the stimulation, urge and subsequent action towards the Great emanation that is the downpour of Kether, the Crown itself reaching towards matter. We could think of this as the primordial waters that hold the mystery of life, much like the deep waters of the seas of Neptune and Pisces that hold the potential for creation of a new Zodiacal Wheel as Pisces flows into the birthing of a newly (in)formed Aries.

The 29th Path: Pisces and the Moon (A Celestial Reflection of Neptune’s Seas)

29th Path

My Soul seeks the beauty of
Your refined and elegant grace.

My body yearns for the wisdom
Of love and creative fires.

My Spirit hungers for the lessons
Found in the bliss of exquisite form.

The 29th Path is considered the Physical Intelligence. This energy is one of actualizing what the heart desires most. It is the form of intelligence that only finds completion of its nature through physical expression and the will to create and craft. Organization and refinement of what that creation will become are important guides for this energy.

The Planetary/Zodiacal Energy
Moon/Pisces

The Moon is placed upon the 29th Path. Pisces is the astrological sign placed upon this path and represents the completion of the zodiacal wheel. Both of these energies are the fullness of emotional expression and intuitive sight. We are all familiar with the energy of the Moon, the waxing and waning of her phases and the power of her tides. Pisces adds the intensity of intentioned compassion and a grace of flow that signals the endings of one phase and the birthing waters that will signal the next.

This energy is what will stir the passions towards greater and deeper expression of what is refined and beautiful. This is the energy that fuels the soul’s need and inspires the outpouring of this emotional state of pure joy into a state of victorious expression.

Tarot Key XVIII – The Moon

Note: Each of the Paths of the Qabalistic Tree has the assignation of a Tarot key placed upon it as further correspondence to its energy. The Paths 11-32 are represented using the Major Arcana cards.

Tarot Key XVIII – The Moon is placed upon the 29th Path. The beasts howl at Lady Moon the queen of ebb and flow and emotional expression. All are attentive to her form and all are held under the sway of her impact. Earth bows to her grace and dreams flow freely as we dip into the oceans that reveal the pearls of great price. Placement of this tarot Key on this path offers encouragement to the power of dreams, visioning, intuitive sight and what is created from our forays into these realms. Music soothes the savage soul, so to the outpouring of creation in phase and cycle of the moon restores man’s connection to the creative effort anchored in the physical and germinated in the spiritual.

Another Path of Expression: Neptune on the 23rd Path

23rd Path
The Sustaining Consciousness

The 23rd Path is considered the Sustaining Consciousness. Thought is sustained by the continual effort of sifting through what is abstract and what can become concrete in clarity and conception. This is the space of brainstorming, so to speak and flexibility and adaptability of mindset in thinking outside of the box is required as the process of selectively weeding through begins. This space of consciousness is one that begins with the precursor of bliss. The pure joy of interface with the Divine and the mental image of that interface that emerges. This is the experience of the Divine as blueprint of what it desires to create in manifest form. The specifications of the blueprint may change in accord with the modifications made, but the basic shape form and energy that created it remains a constant and sustained underlying schematic.

The Element of Water

The element of the 23rd Path is that of Water. These are the waters whose currents run strongly to reshape the shorelines. These are the waters that flow continually carrying within life and potential of the spawning of new form. These are the evolutionary waters that set the process of human form into action. The element of water runs strongly through the 23rd Path. Hod is considered the water temple although its attribution is one of mind and intellect (normally attributed to air). In this respect the flow and intuitive response of water is the deciding factor in what passes through the gates of mind. These waters run deeply into the caverns and recesses of lingering thoughts and flush out what is useless in its creation.

The Planetary Energy
Neptune

The planet Neptune is placed on the 23rd Path. Neptune’s energy is one of deep insight. The image of the trident suggests the trifold nature of mind, will and the fires that catalyze and create the electrical discharge of brilliant pure thought. Neptune offers the promise of visionary dreams and floods of idea and creative image to inspire and further inventiveness. Geburah’s will sets forth the mandate of viability and Hod’s brilliance fills the watery depths with the fires of deep gnosis.

Secondary Ruler Jupiter on the Tree
The 21st Path

21st Path

The 21st Path is one of opportunity for achieving Grace. The state of Grace has many meaning but within this path it is the reflection of the beginning of refinement of self and surroundings to become in greater alignment with the spiritual aspiration of selflessness and greater perspective. The lens of the camera opens and the world in which we claim our victories is seen for its narrow view. As the lens opens wider the expanse and truth of what we have claimed falls away and the real worth and value of those experiences is revealed as part of a larger whole that encompasses the victories of much more than ourselves. What happens in the stages between as each of the extremes coalesce on central ground determines the outcome of ascent to claim the Higher Self or descent for further refinement and accumulated experience. This Path is also one of Water.

The Planetary Energy
Jupiter

The planet Jupiter is placed upon the 21st Path. Jupiter is the planet of expansiveness and inclusiveness. It is one of abundance and the magnetic attraction of prosperity of what is needed collectively. This quality of energy in connection to Chesed and Netzach maintains a constant supply of balanced and fertile inspiration. Chesed has the depth of experience that are the materials used in the process of creative outpour. The application of Jupiter’s energy works to bring these attributes to their fullest expression so that the maximum potential is held within the union of these two.

Union of Mind and Heart

Pisces Combined Paths

We see within the nature of Pisces the union of Mind and Heart reflected within the Tree. The 23rd Path is place of Pure Mind (Hod) tempered by Action (Geburah) and the 21st Path, directly opposite is that of Heart (Netzach) balanced by Mercy (Chesed). The space held between these two that flow both upwards and downwards is the Middle Pillar of those spheres that are the direct route of communication between the Divine and the Manifest. It is both the place of endings and beginnings and just as the current of flow moves within the heart and mind of Pisces, its union is the return to wholeness informed by compassion and grace.

In Conclusion:

We have come full circle around the Zodiacal Wheel and the Solar Year and have looked at the Tree of Life as more than essence and form. We have come to know the astrology of the Tree as one of many currents flowing through its branches and reaching up into the Cosmos as it anchors itself in the body of the Earth’s bounty. This however, is just the beginning of a journey that sees many lifetimes of expression and in acceptance of this truth we also realize the inter-connectedness that all of life shares.

As the light of Tiphareth (Sun) shines brightly and radiates its vision of magnetic attraction throughout the multilayered branches of a tree that reaches far and wide in its expanse and impact we are reminded that in this vision of light extending towards light and darkness forming the paths of the space between, we realize the gift of humanity that continually connects us the higher aspiration of Divinity.

Aquarius Pic

The Magick of Aquarius

Idealistic Visioning

The Magick of Aquarius is dynamically charged and swift in its effects. Whatever we apply Aquarian energy towards will have the benefit of volumes of reference and an informed and intuitive mind that thinks outside of the box. This is the mind where everything is possible as long as it fits the criteria of logic and transformative effect.

Aquarius’ strength lay in its ability to be a magnet for information; greedily consuming it and then being able to spit it out in a way that makes use of the key components required for successful application. This exuberance for the learning capacity of the mind is one that can also present as impatience for those who get lost in the finely structured translation that Aquarius provides. Jumping from A-Z in a milli-second is all in a day’s musing for Aquarius, but this approach is not always the most effective in savoring the finer points of the process.

The caution here is that of detachment and remaining always out in the aethers seeking the next phase of knowledge. There can be a tendency to discount emotions in the equation because they are not logical in mastering a direction that is sterile and appealing to greater mental pursuits. Having come from the very manifest oriented energy of Capricorn to the mental gymnastics of Aquarius is something of a trick in counterbalance. This is the true state of as above (Aquarius), so below (Capricorn) in action. Aquarius strives to move out of the “human condition” and in its place re-invent the cosmic condition” where humanity is of equal value to all of life in all of its forms at a universal level.

Aquarius is the second sign of the third (and final) cycle of quadrant of Elements in progression around the zodiacal wheel. This is the third and last of the astrological signs of Air and in the order of progression, Aquarius has the benefit of drawing its experience from the styles of the other two Air signs.

This is the progression from the first communications of Gemini, eager to please in its methodology of communicative mind and having the agility to change course at will, taking a little from here and a little more from there before it reaches final conclusion. This frantic pace is balanced by Libra’s requirement that all that passes through it must meet the requirements of refinement and grace and be as pleasing to the senses as to the mind it serves. This is mind that has matured from the enthusiasm of youthful Gemini and now seeks longevity and a place where its efforts may be synthesized and strengthened. Arriving at the space of Aquarius, everything of mind and movement is now lengthened into a structure that serves as a point of reference. This is the processing of information with the speed and agility of Gemini and the re-creating balance of Libra’s ability to soften the rough edges and raw dynamics. Aquarius brings these two together in a way that becomes the repository of information that simultaneously sees the past and the future as it creates the panoramic view of what is possible in the present.

A Structured Think Tank

Internet1

Hold steady
Stand strong
Be the container.

Hold fast the
Energy that pours
Forth relentlessly.

The Middle Way
Proves firm and true
What generates inside
Soars above and
Reaches deeply below.

Draw up its strength
Pull down its light
Draw in its anchor of center
And allow to pour forth that
Which will be renewed.

Aquarius is Fixed Air. Highly structured and stable in quality, this active principle is expressed as the synthesizer. The stability of a Fixed sign allows the space for drawing together what has preceded it in the Cardinal sign and prepare the most viable and stable form of that energy as it releases it to the flexibility and expansiveness of the Mutable sign that follows it. Aquarius expresses this ability in the area of thought. The ability to gather together the imaginings and visionings of new invention so the dialogue may begin that will result in “back to the drawing board” or “all systems go!”.

Solar Month Magick

Enhances the inventive mind and movement towards future goals:

Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the Zodiac. The energy of Aquarius is that of mental action. It is a sign of innovative idea. Aquarius is the place of the future. The past and/or history of a thing or place does not hold much interest for the Aquarius as this energy is always looking ahead, and using that as the guiding force in all of endeavors. Being of the quality of mind and intellect, invention and problem solving are the natural gifts of this sign.

The Solar Month of Aquarius is an excellent time to begin the work of brainstorming solutions to long-range goals. Although Aquarius is an Air sign, there is much that relies on the continued flow and movement of intuitive guidance, much like water that has been properly aerated and bubbles up freely expanding and eventually moving beyond its container of limitation. Think on the image of the Water-bearer as the symbol of Aquarius. Water is a necessity for life to continue. A suitable container is needed so that the precious liquid will not spill. And, someone capable of protecting and ensuring that it will arrive at its future destination is required. The magick, however occurs when this liquid is drained from the vessel. Now the potential for more to come that is the same in how it is identified, yet subtly different, because the well of source may not be the same. This is the core of Aquarius, providing some similar, yet different enough from, that it automatically becomes the idea of the future.

The energy of this Solar month of Aquarius next flows into the compassion and healing of Watery Pisces. This is the astrological sign of sacrifice and the unquestionable understanding of the inter-connectedness of all life that has arrived at this conclusion from the Mind that knows the negative product of neglecting the humanness in humanity.

The Aquarian approach can be used for short-term projects, but is most effective for long-term workings. A goal, such as envisioning what you wish the outcome to be in as much detail as possible and then thinking through the viability of each step that will be required for successful goal. Use your mental agility to see all of the perspectives that could be employed. Research and then research some more until you find exactly the correct equation to be applied.

Similar to the New, Full and Waning cycles of the Lunar Month, beginning the working in the Solar Month of Aquarius would be the first phase of identifying what your vision of the prefect outcome would be. Temporarily removing the emotional component, focus more on the what, rather than the compelling feelings of the why. Strip this vision down to its basic architecture revealing all that links it together and supports its building.

As you move through the Solar month you will begin to recognize what is the reasonable and rationale way to proceed. Once this is established, re-introduce the feeling quotient (this is the water vessel that Aquarius carries into the future). If it still stands as the focus of desired intent, go for it.

Using the cycle of Air and those astrological signs of that element the next point of bolstering the energy would be during Gemini Solar Month. The Solar Month of Gemini provides the freedom to communicate your ideas, begin the process of networking for further supports and change course if suitable. This is the burst of new airy mind that refreshes what was released into it from Aquarius.

Having finally arrived in the energy of the Solar month of Libra, now is the opportunity to reign in all that you have experienced and used to bolster your goal of intent. Now is the time to refine it, make it pleasing at all levels to the senses and sensibilities of what you envision for yourself now. This is the space of the dream becoming a reality and you standing fully informed of every process and intention along the way. Much like the architect who has foreseen every weakness in his/her plans and has a final blueprint that erects something that will stand the tests of time.

The Path of Idealism…

Use of Lunar energy in the astrological sign of Aquarius provides the energetic principle of foresight and informed intuition. The approach is one that is both idealistic and prescriptive in nature. The continued dialogue being one of “what if” and “how to formulate it”. Air stirs up the seas in turbulence as well as being to gently move the waters along in a stream that is obstructed and has potential for stagnation. Appropriate use of air in stirring up the emotions of desire for what is imagined, moves the energy towards one of action in taking the necessary steps of planning that will draw you closer to realization of your goals.

Workings that require emotions that are structured and informed by clarity of mind and a concrete plan make use of the Aquarian mind. Bringing to the surface those things that have weighed heavily and toxically in your emotional being can be problem-solved and brought to a place where you may more clearly let your wishes be known, your fears allayed and your joys acted upon.

Workings that encourage you to speak your truths to ensure a future that is in more alignment with what you envision it to be are synthesized into movement that flows continually to sustain and uplift your efforts carried on winds of future change.

The New Moon of Aquarius would be used to seek out what areas of your life need stirring up and recharging with catalytic desire for change. Remember, Uranus is the ruler and disburser of Aquarius’ energy. It is communication on steroids, moving strong and electrically firing up everything in its path. Where would you most like to apply this energy?

The Full Moon of Aquarius allows for those emotional reserves to be brought into a dynamic that will guide and direct your future actions and responses. What was held in the past regarding the issue you selected is now of no importance. What is quickened now in the fullness of Mother Moon’s light is the seed of potential for what you wish it to become.

And, the energy of the Waning Moon in Aquarius provides the opportunity to engage Saturn’s energies as co-ruler of this sign. This is the dynamic of rigid structure that will hold firm what has been started and scatter to the winds what is no longer needed. Additionally, this action is one that is timeless in nature. What is rendered now useless forever was, is and shall be of no power over me!

Some Additional Astrological properties of Aquarius
Keywords: Invention, Vision, Knowledge

The Archetype: The Allegorical Teacher is the archetype associated with Aquarius. Aquarius thrives on learning. It’s intent is to know everything, to be everything and then to share that information and experience with everyone. These are incremental steps towards the ultimate goal of solving the great mysteries of purpose. This is often construed as Aquarius being the great Humanitarian.

The specific form of Humanitarianism that is often ascribed to the Aquarian is one in which the greater good is always the objective, even if it means the expenditure of a singular one. This ideology gives a first impression of Aquarians being cold and emotionally unattached. Logic precludes emotion and largely the actions taken by an Aquarian are from the perspective of feeling so greatly for right outcome that the detail of explaining the emotional depths of that action are not felt to serve to further the ultimate goal.

As a teacher the goal is not one of liking every student that enters those halls of learning. The primary directive is one of teaching every one of those students what there is to teach and what they have come to learn as a collective consciousness of seekers.

Rules Astrological House:
The 11th House of the Zodiac, the House of Friendships

Moving through the Zodiacal Wheel’s energy, the First House is the singular “you” identified by your personality and who you are presently and who you who hope to become. The second House holds the possessions and things you have acquired that further define you. The Third House represents how you express yourself based on what you have learned of yourself (1st House) and what you have chosen to surround yourself with in the material world (2nd House). The Fourth House has taught the lessons of home and family; commitment and unconditional love for who we are now and who we hope to become. Arriving at the Fifth House we are now ready to emerge from the security of friends and family and stand courageously in the Light of the choices we have made, that have contributed to the crafting of this self. Moving on towards the Sixth House we are ready to give, to serve, to cultivate and to learn the lessons of harmonious interaction.

Moving next into the Seventh House we stand ready to gather to ourselves all that we have learned on the journey thus far and use it to explore new paths, learn new ways of being and open to the partnerships forged on a new chosen path. The Eighth House of Scorpio brings passion and emotional attachment to the equation. Awareness of the physical pleasures of being human underscores the journey. As we enter the Ninth House we are ready to initialize what those experiences have been as we load our bows with all that we hope to share and stir the will to action wherever the sights have been set. Jupiter, the ruling planet of Sagittarius stands at the ready to push the extremes and encourage stretching to the limits of what we perceive to be possible.

Continuing into the Tenth House and Capricorn’s reality revealed the effort required to re-claim and maintain the steady ground we stretched towards and sought in Sagittarius. Now, having come from this place of manifest stability, the mind and its dreams are able to project into the furthest reaches of possibility. These are anchored in the relationships we have built that serve as a reality check, when that projection moves beyond grounding. These dreams are further inspired by our interactions with others, at times in an observational stage and at other times, fully engaged in the wholeness of mind and heart.

Aquarius is the Eleventh sign of the Zodiac:

Seasonally, Aquarius stands as space of pause from the celebrations of the longest night of the Winter Solstice and the longest day of the Summer Solstice in the Northern and Southern hemispheres, respectively. These are points when winter is slowly giving way to the future of Spring’s greening (Northern) or the introspective descent into the wintry months ahead (Southern).

We stand at a point of choice about how we will acclimate to these futures and what plans we will make to align with these changes. This is the action of Aquarius as the inventive mind and the ability to plan and envision ourselves in the space of Spring’s growth or Winter’s great demise.

Ambient Lighting

6-plasma-Tubes
We have crossed the mid-point in the Solar Year and are at the last gate before the finality of the last of the 12 Houses of the Astrological signs. Each prior to this point has concerned itself with those aspects of our being that cultivate sense of self (Aries); sense of others (Taurus); expression of ourselves (Gemini); nurturing what we hold close to our hearts (Cancer); moving into our place of power (Leo) and claiming responsibility for taking a closer look at who we have become (Virgo); and finding that place of refinement through interaction. Scorpio marked the advent of self-knowledge and re-forming of what had come before as it is transformed and Sagittarius forged new connections as it moved purposefully beyond its comfort zone.

Capricorn offered the lesson of trial and error until the sure-footedness and confidence necessary to master manifest adversity was cultivated. Now Aquarius is ready to carry us into the ambient and electrically charged dynamic of light that reveals our all-loving nature, informed by the vision of who we are and supported by a solid blueprint towards stepping into that compassionate self of Pisces.

As we move through each of the Solar Temples in the coming year, it will become more apparent how interconnected they are. The story that is woven is one of growth and evolution that is just as relevant today as it was to the ancients. We learn from these natural cycles and their application is profound mundanely and spiritually.

The Magick of Sagittarius
The Power of Reach Fueled by Seeking

The Magick of Sagittarius is complex and deeply layered with potential for multiple outcomes. Whatever we apply Sagittarian energy towards will have the signature of the traveller who is continually seeking new experience and action. This is change that encompasses everything in its grasp and then stretches to include even more.

Sagittarius’ strength lay in its flexibility and resilience as its changes course of action in accord with where the strongest current will carry its explosive arrows of catalyst. Accessing this energy is exhilarating and those seeds that catch the fires of Sagittarian intent will blossom strong and fully enlivened. Sagittarius is as much about the “journey” as the final destination. Workings that strive to keep the energy moving as decisions are made and action is taken thrive under Sagittarius’s enthusiastic nature.

The caution here is that of over extending. There can be a tendency towards having too many irons in the fire and although all are adequately heated and ready for the work at hand, each is diluted in intent as focus and will are spread too thinly. Having come from the intensity of Scorpio the action of Sagittarius lays claim to what has been excavated in those deep dark scorpion waters. However, if Sagittarius lingers too long in the emotional drama of Scorpio, those fiery embers die out and become too water soaked to ever catch fire again. To counterbalance this, Sagittarius may tend towards impulsive action trying to escape the floods but not being fully focused on where those new steps are taking them.

Sagittarius is the first sign of the third cycle of quadrant of Elements in progression around the zodiacal wheel. This is the third and last of the Fire astrological signs and in the order of progression, Sagittarius gathers to itself all of the creative and pent up energy and force that the other two Fire signs have generated. This is the progression from the first steps of Aries, looking out with fresh perspective and energy that is exuberant and youthful in its output. This exuberance is tempered and rallied into a space of blazing magnetism as Leo commands and ignites anything that comes close. This is charismatic will in its most dynamic expression. By the time we arrive at the third of the Fire signs, Sagittarius, the engines have been warmed up, the fires have been stoked, and Will to Action is pushing at the gates of expansive expression as the arrows fly seeking new goals to enliven.

Flexing Your Muscles

Sagittarius is Mutable Fire. Flexible and quantitative in quality, this active principle is expressed as sending out multiple streams of activity in diverse directions and hoping that something will take root. The flexible nature of a mutable sign also gives way to crossing beyond its boundaries and thus releasing what needs to be left behind so the next step towards advancement can be made. In Sagittarius this is typified by the beginning of many new projects, most of which will be left unfinished as desire urges them on towards something new.

Solar Month Magick

Enhances the creative will and creating a broader community of interaction:

Sagittarius is the ninth sign of the Zodiac. The energy of Sagittarius is that of distribution. It is a sign of action. Sagittarius not only walks the path but blazes the trail and lights the way as it moves through new experiences. There is an underlying goal of expanding horizons while remaining within their comfort zone.

The Solar Month of Sagittarius is an excellent time to begin the work of networking and seeking out different paths of experience. Although Sagittarius is a Fire sign, there is much that relies on the creative mind as action takes hold and stirs the desire to explore and create new paths of connection. Think on the image of the Archer as the symbol of Sagittarius. There is a requirement of careful and thought-ful aim as the archer sets the arrow aloft. Calculation and precise intention are the only way the intended target will be hit. Desire and Will framed within the context of inspired mind create the strongest and most assured blaze.

The energy of this Solar month of Sagittarius next flows into the foundation of Earthy Capricorn. This is the astrological sign of slow and deliberate pace and it is this energy that guides the arrows shot freely from Sagittarius’ bow.

The Sagittarian approach can be used for short-term projects, but is most effective for long-term workings. A goal, such as expanding your work collaborations or plotting a new course towards achieving a specific outcome make use of Sagittarian Fire well. Similar to the New, Full and Waning cycles of the Lunar Month, beginning the working in the Solar Month of Sagittarius would be the first phase of exploring the options. Casting your net a little broader and remaining open to whatever you catch. As you move through the Solar month you will begin to recognize what will feed and nourish the desire to act and what should be tossed back- not being wholesome enough. A downfall and boon of Sagittarius is being able to generate excitement about multiple things simultaneously. As a downfall, this can distract away from the primary intent. But, used a benefit, it also can provide a very productive way of attracting multiple options and thus creating more choice for Free Will to be acted upon.

Using the cycle of Fire and those astrological signs of that element the next point of bolstering the energy would be during Aries’ Solar Month. The Solar Month of Aries provides the uncensored excitement that can be used to further what action has been decided upon. These are the energies that fully ignite the passion of trying without any limitation. This is the fuel that is precisely needed as Sagittarius opens the paths of choice that require pure joy and faith.

Having finally arrived in the energy of the Solar month of Leo, what has been reduced and refined as the finest of broths will attract far and wide those that seek its enlivening. Leo as a Fixed sign puts the finishing touches of structure and form to what has caught fires blazing strongly and fully and from this foundation the goal of aim may rise assured that it will reach its mark.

Lunar Magick: Time to Experi(ment)ence

Engages the will to action through exploration…

Use of Lunar energy in the astrological sign of Sagittarius provides the energetic principle of gently and slowly, if applied appropriately, those emotional waters that produce creative and stimulating action. Appropriate use of fiery emotions becomes the passion of great love that will give up life itself for the object of its love. Anger, when used to foster pro-active behavior can bring about change that transforms the lives of it touches.

Workings that require action that is infused with desire towards change, healing and growth make use of the outreach of Sagittarius. Causes that bring about the betterment of humanity can be catalyzed to reach a broader audience at the level of the heart. Workings that encourage movement beyond one’s own small world of identification and comfort are pulled within the tension of the archer’s bow and when released from an intent that is sure and steady take root as they pierce through the veil of illusion and self-centeredness.

The New Moon of Sagittarius would be used to seek out what stirs your passions and encourages you to commune with others of similar intent. Explore different scenarios and settings that relate to what you have set as your intention of reaching towards. The Full Moon of Sagittarius allows for igniting the flame of commitment and firing up the Will towards taking broader and more inclusive steps towards the intended goal. The energy of the Waning Moon in Sagittarius provides the cooling and setting period for what has been ignited. Opportunity to reach just a little further into what motivates your action allows the dross to burn away leaving the ash behind. And, even in this state of purging and reduction to ash there is the potential for it to protect and shield the small and tender shoots of new life that are quickening beneath.

The Archetype: The Explorer is the archetype associated with Sagittarius. Sagittarius thrives in what is new territory. The misconception here is that all this exploring is a preference to settling down and not heeding the call of wanderlust. The truth is that this is exactly how Sagittarius defines home. As family expands and becomes more inclusive and diverse from all of these great explorations, Sagittarius digs even more deeply into the joys and pleasures of being part of a community. The Explorer thrives in their explorations when the roots of their origins are the most firmly entrenched and reach broadly in support.

The mantra of Sagittarius could easily be-

“To boldly go ….”

Rules Astrological House:
The 9th House of the Zodiac, the House of Philosophy and Values

The number Nine relates to endings and serves as the threshold towards new beginnings. As we mature and add to the many people and experiences we encounter our philosophies change and grow as well. Some are elaborated upon and expand I their perspective and others wither and die, being left behind as we pass into a new way of being.

Color:
The colors of Red, Orange and Yellow are those that I see when I think of Sagittarius. These are the colors of a flickering candle flame. Blue lies at the core and is the hottest place of the flame and is also the color of healing; expansive sky and flowing oceans. The flash of blue contained within the surface of fire speaks of the healing nature of reaching out to others. The Fires of Will when acted upon have potential of burning uncontrollably or under the watchful eyes of a community being productive in their outreach.

The Hunger: Scorpio into Sagittarius

I stand on the horizon with my senses
Keen to the rhythm of life all around me
I breathe in the world’s offerings and
Send the experience outward, always
Looking towards the sun and sky
And that which is said to be beyond my grasp.

It is this reaching and straining that
Feeds my hunger to explore and extend
Beyond my limitations
And, once my will takes hold
All that lay within in my sight
Narrows to a single point of focus.

Restrained tension pulls against
The strength of carefully placed
Goal and the final pause of release
Is that which achieves its apex beyond
The keenest of sight.

Once again, the archer sets the course
As movement becomes dynamic
And primal urge bursts into the flames
Of desire and enthusiasm.

Tension gives way to flexibility of
Intent and directed will issues
Forth from that which has been
Carefully ignited.

I fan the tiny embers
That expand and become
Torches that are held towards
The highest of aspirations.
And just as sharpened arrows
Carefully aimed hit the core of
Their determined mark; these
Fires I set to burning within
You will give birth to spontaneity
And finely tempered form.

My paths are many and each is lit
By the embers I have set to
Smoldering deep within.

I am the teacher and the student
Who waits eagerly to blaze a new trail
I am the place from which the Phoenix
Arises and mine is the expanse that
Lights the way as the
Sea goat begins his journey.

Sagittarius is the Ninth sign of the Zodiac:

Seasonally, Sagittarius stands as space of pause from the celebrations of Samhain and Beltane in the Northern and Southern hemispheres, respectively and the longest night of the Winter Solstice (Northern Hemisphere) and the Summer Solstice (Southern Hemisphere). This is reflected again in the number nine and the space of pause between what is ending and what will newly be started.

We stand at the precipice of focus in the Light and the intention of its waxing and waning. This opening requires calling out to what will be, expanding the horizons of what we know and seeking the insight of what we hope to be.

We have crossed the mid-point in the Solar Year and the 12 Houses of the Astrological signs. Scorpio marked the advent of self-knowledge and re-forming of what had come before as it is transformed. Sagittarius is now ready to shine and forge new connections as it moves purposefully beyond its comfort zone.

As we move through each of the Solar Temples in the coming year, it will become more apparent how interconnected they are. The story that is woven is one of growth and evolution that is just as relevant today as it was to the ancients. We learn from these natural cycles and their application is profound mundanely and spiritually.
